Aurender X-PAC and N-PAC Plug-and-Play High-Resolution Audio Systems (CES 2015)

Aurender has just introduced two new plug-and-play high res audio systems, called the X-PAC and the N-PAC. Both systems promise to make managing, browsing, optimizing, and enjoying massive, high-quality music libraries convenient and entertaining for everyone in your home. They offer audiophile sound quality, are intuitive to use, and gorgeous to look at.

The primary difference between the X-PAC and the N-PAC is that the X-PAC manages massive collections (up to 20,000 CDs worth) on its internal hard drives, while the N-PAC accesses Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices for multi-room use, as well as larger music collections.

The X-PAC combines an X100 Music Server/Player and X725 DAC/Stereo Amplifier, while the N-PAC combines an N100 Network Music Server/Player and the same X725 DAC/Stereo Amplifier.

To enjoy your tunes, all you need to do is add a pair of high-quality speakers.

Both systems feature Remote Internet Technical Support which makes troubleshooting really simple. Users can send a support request using the Aurender Conductor app, allowing engineers to quickly diagnose and fix problems over the Internet, should they occur.

X-PAC System: SSD Caching Playback from Internal HD for Large Music Collections

With the X100, Aurender has pulled out all the stops to create a one-of-a-kind audio experience by using Solid-State-Drive cached playback from its internal HD. The unit caches music for playback from its internal HD, eliminating latency, electrical interference and noise resulting from spinning hard drives and compact discs. The result is amazingly clean output. With up to an impressive 12TB (X100L 12TB model) storage capability (and that’s without a NAS device connection), it can accommodate more than 20,000 CDs and high-resolution music tracks in uncompressed WAV format.

Aesthetically, the X-PAC is a very handsome, minimalist lifestyle-oriented music system, with a pair of elegant, machined aluminum cases that complements any décor. A 3.3-inch AMOLED displays album information crisply and clearly, showing track name and recording information, as well as sample rate and music file format – all controlled and selectable from its elegant, easy-to-use iPad app.

N-PAC System: SSD Playback from Network Attached Storage for Limitless Music Collections

The new N-PAC Network Music Player differs from the X100-based X-PAC, focusing users to connect Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices to the system for a virtually endless music library. Like the X-PAC, it provides Solid-State-Drive (SSD) cached playback of NAS contents, for flawless playback of content from NAS even with unoptimized network connections.

Because it doesn’t have internal hard drives, the NAS-driven N100 is smaller and more compact than the X100, with a 3-inch AMOLED display. Standard SSD cache for the N100 is 120GB; a 1TB SSD cache model is optional.

Matching X725 USB DAC & Stereo Amplifier for both X-PAC and N-PAC Systems: Optimizes and Amplifies Any Music File

Both the X-PAC and N-PAC systems include Aurender’s new X725 DAC & Stereo Amplifier, which converts any incoming music file to high-quality analog and provides the power amplification to your speakers (not included). It plays up to 24/192kHz quality – DSD64/128 in native mode – for a pure, articulate sound that brings music to life and reveals detail that you may have never noticed from your favorite music tracks. On the amplification side, it provides a robust 100W (THD+N 0.01%) per channel at 8-ohm stereo Class D amplification – a fancy way of saying that the X725 has enough power to fill a room with sound. An IR Remote Control is included.

Control It with the Award-Winning Aurender App + TIDAL

Control both the X-PAC and N-PAC music systems with the Aurender App for iPad (or the new Android “Lite” App). The App was designed and engineered in-house by Aurender’s software developers to perform optimally with extremely large music collections. All settings and functions of the X-PAC and N-PAC systems can be easily accessed through the Settings menu of the Aurender App. The playlist-based app intuitively allows you to view your collection by Song, Artist, Album, Genre, Composer, Conductor, or Folder. You can also filter these results by Genre, Favorites, and even Quality (DSD, 16/24-bit, etc.). The Aurender App continuously receives praise among press and in the field as one of the best companion Music Server apps available, with lightning-fast browsing and searching.

Both the X100-based X-PAC and N100-based N-PAC have TIDAL streaming music fully integrated into their app. The X-PAC (with X100 6TB capacity) has a Suggested Retail Price of $5,999. The N-PAC (with N100) has a Suggested Retail Price of $4,999. For consumers already owning an X100, the matching X725 DAC/ Stereo Amplifier has a Suggested Retail Price of $2,499.
