Klipsch, has just announced plans for the launch of a limited edition in-ear headphone in honour of Lou Reed. These new Klipsch Signature Audio Edition Lou Reed X10i headphones bear a facsimile of Lou Reed’s signature and look inspired by the Rock Hall of Famer.

Klipsch is customizing Reed’s favourite headphone, the award-winning Image X10i, for the limited edition run. The launch of the specialty headphones coincides with the release of Reed’s latest project, a collaborative album with Metallica titled “Lulu”.

The headphones feature an echo cancellation microphone for crystal clear conversations and three-button remote to handle phone calls and playlists at the touch of a button on Apple’s iPod, iPhone or iPad. .

Like all Klipsch in-ear headphones, the X10i utilizes the company’s patented oval ear tips for comfortable long-term wear, superior noise isolation and excellent bass. This new Signature Edition will come in a high-gloss purple finish with copper accents, packaged with a collectible autograph card.

The new Klipsch Signature Audio Edition Lou Reed X10i will be available as of Dec. 10, 2011 at a MSRP of $399.99 U.S. with the first 50 customers to pre-order these headphones (from the Klipsch’s website) also receiving a free copy of the new “Lulu” album, signed by Lou Reed.
