The Harman Luxury Audio Group just released at CES 2014 their new Lexicon MC-14 Surround Processor, which succeeds their Lexicon MC-12 platform. The new 7.1-channel MC-14 offers extensive connectivity and control features.
The new MC-14 has been designed for optimal pairing with Lexicon’s RX-7 and ZX-7 multi-channel amplifiers and provides source inputs for Blu-ray, Satellite/Cable, Game, Media, DVR, TV, CD and two audio XLR (balanced) inputs, along with a USB port for direct connection of a computer/music server. The MC-14 has nine digital audio inputs, six stereo analog and 7.1 analog inputs, balanced and single-ended audio outputs and a headphone jack. Video connectivity includes eight HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs and additional video input. The MC-14 also provies Ethernet and RS-232 ports, together with IR input and trigger inputs and outputs.
The MC-14 utilizes audiophile-grade Crystal Semiconductor D/A converters, discrete Class A audio circuitry, separate power supplies for the analog and digital sections and premium internal components to convey music and movie soundtracks with superlative clarity, dynamic impact and realism. The MC-14 is compatible with Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and other Dolby Digital and DTS formats. A bypass mode provides an all-analog signal path for audiophiles who want to hear the most from analog music sources.
The Lexicon MC-14 offers multi-room operation, with independent playback of two different A/V sources in two different rooms. It provides a full complement of adjustments to optimize its audio output to any system and room. It includes bass management for all program sources and types of speaker setups, level and delay adjustment for each channel, a selection of DSP surround-enhancement modes for 2-channel music sources and many additional features.
Although sophisticated in its capabilities, the MC-14 is designed for ease of setup and operation. The front panel has a large four-line display and the unit is supplied with a full function remote control.
The Lexicon MC-14 Surround Processor will be available in April 2014 at a MSRP of: $10,500 U.S. Look for more details at: http://www.harman.com/.
