Panasonic is the latest manufacturer to announce the details about its 2011 VIERA HDTV line-up for the Canadian market.  For this year, Panasonic has introduced three VIERA Full HD 3D NeoPlasma model lines – the VT30 series, GT30 and ST30 series – and expanded its 3D line-up with the addition of two LED-LCD HDTVs to offer Full HD 3D.

Panasonic’s proprietary IPTV functionality, VIERA Connect, is now available on select models. This cloud-based Internet enabled service reflects the transition from the traditional broadcast approach of VIERA Cast to a more interactive and inter-connected experience. VIERA Cast’s popular sites, including YouTube, Twitter, Bloomberg News, a weather channel and Skype continue on VIERA Connect but will be joined by a host of exciting features and apps . Facilitated by VIERA Connect are such popular apps as CinemaNow, Facebook, SHOUTcast , MLB.TV, and online video games. In addition, VIERA Connect will give consumers the option to personalize their IPTV experience by a broad range of additional applications from third-party developers as they become available.

The 2011 line-up also introduces EasyIPTV which provides IPTV functionality in 12 select VIERA HDTVs with a set number of movie, music and social networking sites, including Shoutcast, CinemaNow and Facebook.

VIERA Full HD 3D Plasma TVs

Panasonic’s Full HD 3D NeoPlasma TV models feature 600 Hz Sub-field drive for excellent motion, excellent contrast ratios with Infinite Black Pro 2 (VT30), and Infinite Black Pro (GT30 and ST30). Their fast response time and newly developed fast-switching phosphor, reducing crosstalk, makes them especially suited for both 3D and 2D viewing. Furthermore, active shutter technology delivers the exceptional picture quality, thanks to Full HD resolution and clear separation of the two images, one for each eye.

The top-of-the-line VIERA VT30 series consists of two models: the 65-inch class TC-P65VT30 and the 55-inch class TC-P55VT30. The VT30 models are distinguished by a one sheet glass design, giving the television a sleek, modern look. Having passed more than thirty tests, the VT30 series also received THX 3D Display Certification for optimum picture quality in both 2D and 3D.

In addition, the VT30 series features VIERA Connect; Wi-Fi ready with included wireless LAN adaptor (through USB port); Skype video calling; 3D VIERA Image Viewer (to view 2D and 3D digital still images); 2D & 3D HD video recorded on an SD Memory Card; VIERA Link (a technology that allows you to operate all VIERA Link compatible A/V components); a PC input; three USB Ports; 24p Cinema Smoother playback; four HDMI connections; DLNA certified; RS232C connection, and ISFccc capability. One pair of Full HD 3D eyewear is included with the VT30 series.

The VIERA GT30 series features four models: the TC-P65GT30 (65-inch); the TC-P60GT30 (60-inch); the TC-P55GT30 (55-inch), and the TC-P50GT30 (50-inch). The GT30 series features THX 3D Display Certification; fast switching phosphor; 600Hz Sub-field Drive; VIERA Connect; Wi-Fi ready with included wireless LAN adaptor (through USB port); Skype video calling; 3D VIERA Image Viewer ; DLNA certified; VIERA Link; PC input; four HDMI connections; three USB ports; and 24p Cinema Smoother playback. The new “Flush” design gives the GT series an elegant, sleek appearance.

The VIERA ST30 series introduces six screen sizes, from 42-inches to 65-inches, to the Panasonic family of Full HD 3D HDTVs. Featured in this series are: the TC-P65ST30 (65-inch); TC-P60ST30 (60-inch); TC-P55ST30 (55-inch); TC-P50ST30 (50-inch); TC-P46ST30 (46-inch), and TC-P42ST30 (42-inch). The ST30 Full HD 3D HDTVs present a feature package that includes VIERA Connect; Wi-Fi Ready with included wireless LAN adaptor; (through USB port); Skype video calling; 3D VIERA Image Viewer ; DLNA certified; VIERA Link; three HDMI connections; two USB ports; 24p Cinema Smoother playback; fast switching phosphor and 600Hz Sub-field Drive.

VIERA Plasma HDTVs

The VIERA S30 series introduces four screen sizes, from 42-inches to 60-inches. Featured in this series are the TC-P60S30 (60-inch); TC-P50S30 (50-inch); TC-P46S30 (46-inch); and the TC-P42S30 (42-inch). With Full HD 1080p resolution, the S30 models feature 600 Hz Sub-field drive; Easy IPTV; Wi-Fi ready via USB port; DLNA certified; VIERA Image Viewer; three HDMI inputs; two USB ports and VIERA Link.

The VIERA X3 series introduces three screen sizes from 42-inches to 50-inches. This series includes the TC-P50X3 (50-inch); TC-P46X3 (46-inch); and the TC-P42X3 (42-inch). All X3 models feature 600 Hz Sub-field drive; Easy IPTV; Wi-Fi ready via USB port; DLNA certified; VIERA Image Viewer; two HDMI inputs; two USB ports and VIERA Link.

VIERA Full HD LED-LCD TVs

The 2011 series expands the LED-LCD model line from two models in 2010 to eight, including two Full HD 3D models, the TC-L37DT30 and TC-L32DT30. The 2011 line-up introduces five LED-LCD series – the DT30, D30, E3, E30, and C30, which premieres a new 19-inch screen size. All, with the exception of the C30, provide 1080p resolution.

In addition, the new LED-LCD models feature the IPS Alpha panel, except for the 42-inch E3 model. The IPS Alpha panel is recognized worldwide for the industry’s top-level response time and energy efficiency, providing wider viewing angles and high light transmission rates.

The VIERA DT30 series consists of two Full HD 3D models, the TC-L37DT30 and TC-L32DT30. They feature 240 Hz Motion Picture Pro 5 for reduced crosstalk; 24p 3D Smooth Film playback; Clear Panel (to enhance contrast and reduce ambient light reflections); ISFccc capability over Ethernet; VIERA Connect; Wi-Fi ready with included wireless LAN adaptor (through USB port); Skype video calling; 3D VIERA Image Viewer; DLNA certified; VIERA Link; PC input; four HDMI connections and three USB ports. The DT30’s “Flush” design provides an elegant, sleek appearance.

The VIERA TC-L42D30 is a 42-inch class HDTV with 120 Hz Motion Picture Pro 4 for fast motion response speeds; 24p Smooth Film playback; Clear Panel; ISFccc capability over Ethernet; VIERA Connect; Wi-Fi ready via USB port; Skype video calling; VIERA Image Viewer ; DLNA certified; VIERA Link, PC input; four HDMI connections and three USB ports. The D30 also features the new “Flush” design.

The TC-L42E30 features 120Hz Motion Picture Pro 4 for fast motion response speeds. It also includes 24p Smooth Film playback; Clear Panel; Easy IPTV; Wi-Fi ready via USB port; DLNA certified; VIERA Image Viewer; four HDMI inputs; two USB ports; PC input and VIERA Link.

The E3 series presents three screen sizes – the 42-inch class TC-L42E3 (IPS LED-LCD); the 37-inch class TC-L37E3 and the 32-inch class TC-L32E3 with IPS Alpha panel. The E3 HDTVs feature Fine Black Panel; Easy IPTV; Wi-Fi ready via USB port; DLNA certified; VIERA Image Viewer; four HDMI inputs, two USB ports; PC input and VIERA Link.

The TC-L19C30 is a new 19-inch LED-LCD screen size with IPS Alpha panel; 720p resolution with one HDMI connection; PC input; Fine Black Panel; Game Mode; VIERA Image Viewer for viewing photos and VIERA Link.

VIERA LCD HDTV The TC-L42U30 is a 42-inch class model, featuring an IPS Panel; 1080p resolution; 120Hz with Motion Picture Pro 4; Fine Black panel; Game Mode; three HDMI connectors; PC Input; VIERA Link and VIERA Image Viewer (photo only).

The LCD U3 series includes two models, the 37-inch class TC-L37U3 and the 32-inch class TC­L32U3. These two LCD HDTVs with IPS Alpha panel deliver 1080p Full HD resolution with Fine Black panel; three HDMI connectors; a PC Input; Game Mode; VIERA Image Viewer (photo only) and VIERA Link.

The TC-L32X30, a 32-inch class LCD HDTV with the IPS Alpha Panel, continues to offer the popular iPod/iPhone Entertainment kit, allowing the user to connect their device directly to the TV. The L32X30 also includes Easy IPTV; DLNA certified; Fine Black Panel; VIERA Link; three HDMI connectors; USB port: PC Input; Wi-Fi ready via USB port; VIERA Image Viewer (photo and video) and VIERA Link.

The TC-L32C3 is a 32-inch class HDTV with the IPS Alpha Panel. In addition, the LCD TV features two HDMI connectors; a PC Input; VIERA Image Viewer (photo only); Fine Black Panel; Game Mode and VIERA Link. The TC-L24C3 is a 24 –inch class HDTV featuring Fine Black panel, VIERA Link and VIERA Image viewer (photo only). It includes one HDMI connector; PC input and Game Mode.

The TC-L19C30 and TC-L24C3 will be available later this summer; all other VIERA models will be available in April/May.
