Sony Canada has just revealed the prices and availability for its new 4K Ultra High Definition TV sets showed earlier this year at CES. The new XBR-55X900A (55-inch) and XBR-65X900A (65-inch) 4K Ultra HD LED TVs are priced at $5,499.99 and $7,699.99 respectively and are available now at store.sony.ca/4ktv and various retailers across the country.

Unique to Sony, TRILUMINOS Display technology promises incredibly true, natural shades of colours giving a heightened sense of depth.  The X-Reality PRO and 4K X-Reality PRO processors upscale HD images by analyzing and refining images from all sources so that everything they see is restored with beautiful, natural detail, richer colour and stunning contrast.

To coincide with the availability of Sony’s new 4K Ultra HD TVs, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is also bringing to market a lineup of “Mastered in 4K” Blu-ray Discs on May 14, 2013. With 1080p high-definition picture that’s derived from the highest quality 4K source materials with new expanded colour, consumers will enjoy a dynamic and vibrant picture that’s both optimized for the 4K Ultra HD TVs and playback on all existing Blu-ray players and HDTVs.
