Gemme Audio is a Canadian corporation based in Quebec that specializes in speaker design and manufacturing.  Just recently they introduced their second generation Tonic lineup.  Anyone up for a next Gen. n’ Tonic?

Each of the models in the Tonic line feature new dome tweeters, together with magnetic grills.  Even better news is that prices are unchanged – I love getting more for my money. 

There are three models in the line: the G3; G5 and G7.  All the models have an efficiency rating of 86db (2.83 volts / 1 watt / 1 metre) and a nominal impendence of 8 ohms.  The Tonic models come in genuine pair-matched bookmatched hand-laid walnut or elegant piano black lacquer.  Additional specifications and pricing are as follows:

 G3:  Frequency response: 55 Hz @ 20,000Hz, in room; Suggested power: 30-200watts; Walnut finish: $850; Piano black finish: $1295

 G5:  Frequency response: 50 Hz @ 20,000Hz, in room; Suggested power: 30-200watts; Walnut finish: $1395; Piano black finish: $1695   

 G7:  Frequency response: 45 Hz @ 20,000Hz, in room; Suggested power: 30-200watts; Walnut finish: $1795; Piano finish: $1995;
