For essentially the difference between the original price of the Alpha DAC Reference Series and the new Series 2, plus shipping, Berkely Audio Design will provide an upgrade that brings the original DAC up to exactly the same performance level of the new Reference Series 2 DAC.

The new Berkeley Audio Design Alpha DAC Reference Series 2 will begin shipping in June 2016 at a retail price of $19,500 U.S. at which time the original Alpha DAC Reference Series will be discontinued. Owners of the original Alpha DAC Reference Series will be able to send in their DAC for upgrade to the Series 2 level at a price of $3,500 U.S. plus shipping. The Alpha DAC Reference Series 2 will be available to audition in Salon B at the T.H.E. Show Newport, June 3-5.
