Onkyo has just expanded their headphone range with two new iOS compatible headphone products: ES-CTI300 on-ear and IE-CTI300 in-ear headphones. Both these new headphones are in keeping with the design and specifications of the existing Onkyo headphne four-model range but add a new detachable oxygen-free 6N copper cable with iOS-Certified controls.
Two versions of the on-ear type will be available. The ES-CTI300(SS) with silver finish with premium leatherette earpads and the ES-CTI300(BS) with a black finish and earpads. Both CTI300 headphones will have a transparent / silver tangle-resistant cable with integrated slim three-button cable control that offers play/pause, track selection, call accept/reject, and volume functionality with mic. The contorller is compatible with almost all current and legacy iPod, iPhone, and iPad models.
At the heart of the ES-CTI300 on-ear headphones are two 40 mm titanium drivers backed by high-capacity bass chambers encased in lightweight, non-resonant aluminum ear-cups with a super-conductive 6N cable – to deliver a full, pure, and highly detailed sound.
The IE-CTI300 in-ear headphones use a wide-range 14.3 mm dynamic driver and aluminum/ABS hybrid enclosure that are very light and comfortable to wear making them ideal for use with iDevices.
Like all Onkyo headphone models, the ES-CTI300 and IE-CTI300 feature detachable cables with gold-plated MMCX connectors and reinforced, gold-plated stereo plugs, allowing users to easily replace a damaged cable rather than a complete set of headphones
Three main cable options are now available: a flat tangle-free elastomer, one-piece 6N copper, and 6N copper with inline control.
The ES-CTI200 and IE-CTI300 will both be available in December 2013 with MSRPs of: $199 U.S. and $149 U.S. respectively. Look for more information on these and other Onkyo products at: www.onkyo.ca.
