Micromega MySpeaker (Custom)

French manufacturer Micromega has long offered a respected line of audio components and this year at the CES in Las Vegas took the opportunity to introduce its first loudspeakers. The MySpeaker is a bookshelf speaker that will join the “My Range” of products – this range currently includes the MyAmp, MyCable, MyGroov phono amp, and MyZic headphone amp. The new speaker, available in white or black finishes, will retail for a reasonable $349 US for a pair and sounds much grander that it looks. The MySpeaker has a bottom-mounted bass driver and is hence elevated by 2-inch feet, allowing the driver breathing space. The speaker is designed to sit close to a wall to maximize its performance. Micromega will also be introducing a powered version of this speaker (2 x 40 watts) later this year, which will retail for about $900 US/pair.
