Sennheiser has just added a two new flagship headphone models to its Travel Line series. The new MM 450-X and MM 550-X Bluetooth headphones incorporate the latest in apt-X technology. The apt-X technology compresses sound at a four times higher rate to deliver a fuller and wider audio spectrum.
The MM 550-X and MM 450-X feature NoiseGard 2.0, active noise cancelling technology, which is claimed to cancel out 90% of background noise and allow for phone calls to be crystal-clear. A TalkThrough function delivers conversation with only a press of a button activating the external microphone, with no need to remove the headphones. Despite the incorporated features and technology the headphones have been designed to be lightweight and foldable, for easy portability.
Both headsets support most of the apt-X mobile devices as well as Mac OS X Lion. If the mobile device or the computer doesn’t support apt-X the headsets will automatically switch to regular Bluetooth audio quality.
The top model, MM 550-X, offers surround sound via the SRS WOW HD technology that creates a wider, taller soundstage, with greater clarity and stronger bass.
All headsets have a cable included, which also comes in handy when travelling by plane. A two year international warranty is included.
The headsets will be available worldwide in March 2012. Prices have not yet been announced.
