Toshiba at 2012 CES

Toshiba is utilizing this year’s CES to introduce its completely revamped HDTV line-up for 2012. New LED TV models feature key enhancements including a stylish new Aero(TM) Family Design, improved picture quality, enhanced sound quality and new 50-inch class size models.  Toshiba is also demonstrating its new glasses-free 3DTV at its show booth.

Toshiba Regza glasses-free 3D TV

At last year’s CES Toshiba introduced its first glasses-free 3DTV and this year the company is showcasing its new 55-inch Quad Full HD glasses-free 3D TV model.  The glasses-free effect is achieved in part thanks to a tiny camera built into the TV base which tracks your face, while arrows and dots at the top of the screen help you get properly lined up with the TV.  The 3D effect is said to be effective although not quite as good as what the latest glasses-based 3DTVs have to offer.  The model number nor the pricing have been announced but Toshiba said that this TV will be available in North America in Q1 of 2012.

Highlights of the new features that all other Toshiba 2012 TVs will incorporate include:

Dynamic Picture Mode

Toshiba TVs include multiple picture mode options including Standard, Movie, PC, Native Mode(TM) and Expert Mode. Toshiba’s 2012 line adds a new Dynamic Mode. This mode maximizes picture contrast, color and sharpness to provide a highly compelling and vivid visual experience.

Audyssey Sound Enhancement Technology

As TVs get thinner, so can the sound. To help ensure a better sound experience, Toshiba has incorporated Audyssey sound enhancement technology into all of its 2012 TV models. Features such as Dynamic EQ provide more natural sound and Audyssey BassXT delivers deeper bass performance. Toshiba’s LED TV models incorporate the Premium Suite, which incorporates Dynamic Volume technology, eliminating sudden volume changes from commercials and channel changes.

Aero Family Design

Virtually all 2012 Toshiba LED TVs now feature the new Aero Family Design. Hallmarked by a silver wing design along the bottom of the display as well as and thin bezel treatment, these TVs have a modern look that fits well into virtually any home decor.
